Reporting to the SVP Portfolio Strategy and Leadership, the Director, Launch Program Management will have accountability for the overall coordination of the Veligrotug product launch team activities. In this role, the program manager will collaborate closely with the commercial team and work with the launch and program teams to ensure appropriate and timely decision-making, facilitate setting of priorities, and managing the team to deliver results. Communication of progress, highlighting risks and mitigations, development of timelines and elevation of challenges to stakeholders is a key component of success.
This role is based in our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our office-based employees follow a hybrid in-office schedule. Remote work is allowed, and the frequency is at the discretion of management.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Facilitation and manage the veligrotug commercial launch team and program team meetings
- Maintain frequent communication with the cross-functional team members and key internal stakeholders so that all parties are aware of the launch status, issues, contingencies, and milestones
- Prepare summary information on launch progress, prepare dashboards, manage timeline updates and risk assessments for timely management and oversight in addition to periodic presentations to stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team
- With team members and in accordance with corporate objectives, facilitate the execution setting of launch and program strategy including objectives, key milestones and scope
- Lead team meetings and ensure that clear actions and decisions are documented, communicated, and committed to, enabling timeline adherence
- Support the Program Governance model, and foundations for program management practices and processes within Viridian
- Cultivate influential relationships with executive and functional leaders to align launch and program team operations with portfolio and company objectives
- Establish and track program goals and key metrics for monitoring and assessing program performance
Qualifications:
- A comprehensive understanding of product commercialization activities with prior experience of managing multiple product launches is required
- Requires a BA/BS in life sciences or equivalent with scientific knowledge or experience and at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/drug development program management. Advanced degree and/or PMP certification desired
- Must be an innovative, driven, highly organized self-starter with the ability to handle multiple activities and comfortable interacting with all functional levels including management within the company
- Extensive intermediate to advanced computer skills (Power Point, Excel, Word, MS Project, SharePoint)
- Expert level knowledge of project management methodology, including advanced skills in developing Gannt Charts and asset timelines
- Skilled in risk management and contingency planning
- Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment and influence without authority while maintaining positive, constructive working relationships across functions and with senior leadership
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills including people management in a matrixed organizational structure, time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Willing and able to learn new skills to meet changing needs of the organization
- Ability to travel 5-10%
- The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
