Sr. Manager/Manager, Materials Management & Logistics Remote/Waltham, MA

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Supply Chain, the Sr. Manager/Manager, Materials Management & Logistics will be accountable for GMP inventory management, warehousing, and cold chain logistics across our global contract manufacturing network.  You will partner with cross-functional teams to supply on time deliveries of medical device components, drug substance, drug product, and combination products to downstream production facilities that match the needs of the business and ensure supply to our patients.

This role may be based in our Waltham, MA headquarters or fully remote. Our office-based employees are required to work in the office three (3) days a week.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Manage clinical and commercial product global logistics activities for cold chain GMP materials including scheduling, tracking, and performing quality checks across the supply chain to ensure compliance; execute international shipments, including import / export and trade compliance activities
  • Coordinate logistics and inventory management activities across manufacturing sites, warehouses, distribution vendors, and key internal stakeholders to ensure consistent inventory is available at each node to sustain commercial readiness and supply
  • Implement and maintain processes and systems to track and monitor inventory levels, shipping, and receiving processes
  • Serve as the relationship manager for warehouses, couriers, trade compliance advisor, and customs brokers to handle all global logistics activities
  • Author and maintain documents to ensure effective product handling, including SOP’s, shipping and receiving forms, visual work instructions, and information sheets in accordance with GDP
  • Work with couriers to set up and maintain shipping lanes and pricing for all products
  • Review temperature data captured from monitored shipments against established product retest temperature and time limits; trend excursions and propose corrective actions
  • Manage global inventory including serving as a subject matter expertin the establishment of an electronic inventory management system; partner with Supply Chain Business Systems, IT, and QA to build, test, and validate the application
  • Develop shipping validation strategies to support global movement of GMP materials (master and working cell banks, drug substance, drug product, medical device components and assembled combination products, such as autoinjectors)
  • Partner with the Commercial Organization to select Commercial 3PLs to support the Commercial Supply Chain Strategy; Manage Supply Chain commercial distribution activities
  • Provide support in supply chain and external manufacturing budgeting including PO and invoice management

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, supply chain, or related discipline with 6+ years of experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain and/or cGMP Commercial Manufacturing Operations
  • Experience partnering with CMOs in a Commercial Manufacturing environment required
  • Working knowledge of FDA/ICH/EMA guidelines and cGMPs; familiarity with regulatory submission requirements
  • Exemplary interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
